Le Pontet

Lydie's husband treated my very kindly this morning.  He helped me duck-tape and transport my box of Provencal purchases to Le Poste to send back to the U.S.

So, after bittersweet goodbyes and the promise of my emminent return, I headed south to Avignon and Le Pontet.  My plan was to check into the hotel and walk around Avignon.  However, I drove through the heart of Avignon (minor overshot on the highway) to get to Le Pontet, which is a suburb of Avignon (not that either are very large).  I pulled into my hotel to discover it is an oaisis.  Beautiful gardens, excellent restaurant, French Riveria pool.

My room was not ready, so I sat by the pool with my book and fell asleep (clothed) amongst the topless bathers. I decided to relax this afternoon instead of heading back to Avignon.  I have an in-room massage scheduled, a swim and dinner here in the hotel.

I will blog on dinner later.
