The baromoter reached 95 degrees today!  Even the dogs were uncomfortable.  I took them out into the yard and hosed them down to cool them off.  Ususally, when I get the hose, they run away.  Today, they just stood there basking in the cool water. 

It is too hot to cook.  I had ambitions of preparing some guacamole, some berries and cream and maybe grilling some hamburgers — but I haven't done any of it. 

I only have AC in my bedroom, so the dogs and I are swooning on the couch.  Weather like this calls for COLD rose — I have opened a bottle of 06 Oriel Rose from Bordeaux. I'm chasing it down with some homemade ginger sorbet.

If it gets any hotter, I'll go for a swim in the lake ... I love the country!
