Steamed Asparagus With Garlic and Truffle Oil

My friend Sarah requested that I post some recipes for vegetable side dishes.  So, I began thinking…"What are my favorite veggie side dishes?"

So, I figured that I would start a series of blogs on veggie side dishes.  I Adore Asparagus. It accompanies meats so nicely.  One of my absolute favorite Asparagus recipes is incredibly simple, yet so delicious; you can't help but make it often.

Steamed Asparagus with Garlic and Truffle Oil

Ingredients:
  • One bunch Asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 cloves sliced garlic, lengthwise
  • ¼ teaspoon truffle oil
  • ½ pat of butter

Directions:

  • Fill a sauce pan ¼ up the sides with water
  • Place steamer-insert inside the pot and fill with asparagus and sliced garlic
  • Drizzle oil on top of the asparagus and cover
  • Cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the asparagus is soft
  • Remove the asparagus and garlic onto a plate and place pat of butter on top – cover so the residual heat melts the butter, serve

Tomorrow, I'll post more on potatoes
